Owned by Frank and Celia Wood, Camp Windhover is a natural progression for this couple, passionate about the arts and young people.   Camp Director Celia Wood taught writing and literature for twenty-five years to every age from four-years-old to senior citizen, as well as helped to create several camps for non-profits in Jackson, MS.   Frank, who is a practicing attorney, has written several plays and among them two musicals that won Eudora Welty New Play Series productions by New Stage Theater.

The Woods have designed Camp Windhover to help children and young adults grow in their life journeys through arts and traditional camping experiences.   Celia contends, "While American Camping Association courses and the accreditation process have helped with fine tooling Camp Windhover, the education of a lifetime has shaped my vision.   We want to offer campers the chance to see and the chance to do for themselves in the presence of kind and watchful adults--the best of learning conditions."

The owners' three children have provided them an education in arts programs across the country as they have grown up.   Katherine is a singer and actor in Los Angeles; Alice is plying her art in composing and music editing for film in Los Angeles, and Frank is a singer-songwriter in Los Angeles.
